This shore day trip is dedicated to those who want to admire the magnificence of the highest active volcano in Europe before enjoying a relaxing time in Taormina.
Our driver will pick you up from your cruise port at your most preferred time and drive you to Rifugio Sapienza, in the south side of Mount Etna (1920 meters). Once you arrive at the Rifugio you can simply relax in front of an hot chocolate and a piece of traditional cake admiring the surrounding volcanic landscape or do some trekking on the Monti Silvestri, two inactive craters formed as a result of the Mount Etna eruption of 1892 located just few meters walking distance from the refuge.
Afterwards, we will drive you to Taormina center, where you will have free time to explore the pearl of Mediterranean: the wonderful Greek Roman Theatre with terrific views over Mount Etna and the bay, the Cathedral of San Nicolò di Bari, the Public Gardens, the fascinating Corso Umberto with its boutiques and colorful balconies and much more. You will have the chance to take the cable car (cost € 3,00 per person one way) to reach the bay of Taormina and see Isola Bella, which is a protected natural site as well as a beautiful beach.
The driver will pick you up from the bay or the center at agreed time to take you back to your cruise ship.
